Soybean (Glycine max L. Merrill) is an important oilseed and pulse crop. Soybean is known as the “GOLDEN BEAN” of the 20th Century and it continues to be so in the current millennia. It is an excellent health food and contains about 40 to 44% good quality protein, 20% Cholesterol free oil. The non-judicious and unbalanced use of fertilizers, also leads to environmental pollution. One of the important aspects in organic farming is the soil fertility/nutrient management of crops/cropping systems to optimize crop productivity. The management of manures within a crop rotation can have large effects on yields and crop quality Organic manures influence soil productivity through their effect on soil physical, chemical and biological properties. Sulphur nutrition is essential in increasing the oil content in soybean. Sulphur plays a key role in protein synthesis and is essential for many plant functions since it is a component of amino acids, protein and peptides.
