Интенсивность кариеса зубов у взрослых и у детей, как правило, соответствует высокому уровню, а заболевания пародонта, слизистой оболочки рта диагностируются у большинства населения. На степень выраженности стоматологических заболеваний влияют различные факторы, среди которых немаловажное значение имеют неблагоприятные показатели окружающей среды, в том числе определяемые условиями промышленного предприятия. Несмотря на многочисленные исследования этиологии и патогенеза основных стоматологических заболеваний, проблемы их предупреждения окончательно не решены, что диктует необходимость поиска новых подходов в решении этой проблемы. Разработка и применение лечебно-профилактических средств при этом должна быть направлена на улучшение состояния здоровья полости рта.
