Martin Mittag ist Bauingenieur und Architekt. Er hat bisher mehr als 60 Fachbücher verfasst. Unter anderem war er für mehr als 30 Jahre Mitarbeiter im DIN, ist Vorstandsmitglied der Internationalen Gesellschaft für Ingenieurpädagogik (IGIP), Initiator und Vizepräsident des Europäischen Institutes für postgraduale Bildung an der TU Dresden und Direktor des Institutes für Bauplanung, Bautechnik und Bauökonomie (IFBAU).
