Description

Product Description This book covers different aspects of the physics of iron-based superconductors ranging from the theoretical, the numerical and computational to the experimental ones. It starts from the basic theory modeling many-body physics in Fe-superconductors and other multi-orbital materials and reaches up to the magnetic and Cooper pair fluctuations and nematic order. Finally, it offers a comprehensive overview of the most recent advancements in the experimental investigations of iron based superconductors.   From the Back Cover This book covers different aspects of the physics of iron-based superconductors ranging from the theoretical, the numerical and computational, to the experimental ones. During his very long career he has matured professional experience in Quantum Field Theory, Statistical Mechanics and Condensed Matter Physics focusing on Highly Correlated Systems, Superconductivity, Ferromagnetism and Heavy-Fermion Systems. After graduating in Physics at Naples University in 1966, he completed his Ph.D in Physics in 1971  at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (USA). After his graduation, from 1971 to 1997, he visited numerous international institutions as a Visiting Scientist. Among these we find: the Dept. of Physics, Hyderabad University (India); the Dept. of Physics, Tohoku University (Sendai, Japan); the Dept. of Physics, Alberta University (Canada); the Dept. of Physics, Wisc onsin-Milwaukee University (USA). During his career he has covered many positions: (1980 – 2011) Full professor of Structure of Matter, University of Salerno; (1/11/1976 - 31/10/1980) Associated Professor, University of Salerno; (1/11/1972 - 31/10/1976) Assistant Professor, University of Salerno; (1/11/1971- 31/10/1972) Assistant Professor of Physics II, University of Naples; (1/11/1968 - 31/10/1971) Research Assistant, University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, USA; (1966 - 1968) Fellowship, Istituto di Fisica Teorica, University of Naples. Prof. Mancini has been Chairman of the Department of Physics from 01.01.84 to 31.10.89 and from 01.01.01 to 31.12.06, Member of the Board of Governors of the University of Salerno from 01.01.84 to 31.10.98, President of the University Scientific Commission from 19.01.88 to 12.06.92, President of the Undergraduate Board in Physics from 01.11.89 to 12.09.93. Prof. Mancini has carried out many National and International Scientific Collaborations: He was delegate for Italy in the "Management Committee" of the COST Action P 16 "Emergent Behaviour 3="" scientific="" events="" among="" which:="" training="" courses,="" conferences,="" symposiums="" meetings. CURRICULUM VITAE Citro Roberta Dr. Roberta Citro is an Associate Professor at the Department of Physics of the University of Salerno (Italy). In recent years she has matured professional experience in many-body techniques of low-dimensional systems and in quantum transport in nanostructures. She has recently established a new research team/activity on quantum transport in low dimensional systems. She completed her Ph.D in Physics at the University of Salerno (Italy) in 1998 defending a thesis on high-temperature superconductors. After her graduation, she was, first, a Post Doc Fulbright fellow at the Physics Department of Rutge rs University (New Jersey, USA) where she collaborated with the Condensed Matter theory group,
