About the Author Nick T. Thomopoulos is professor emeritus at Illinois Institute of Technology (also known as Illinois Tech). Nick has degrees in Business (BS), and Mathematics (MA) from the University of Illinois, and in Industrial Engineering (PhD) from Illinois Tech. He served two years in the U.S. Army, worked eight years for International Harvester in Operations Research at the corporate headquarters, two years for IIT Research Institute as Senior Scientist, and then forty years as a Professor in the Industrial Engineering Department and in the Stuart School of Business at Illinois Tech.
