Schraubenverdichter sind eine sehr junge Verdichterbauart. Sie haben in den letzten Jahren eine weite Verbreitung gefunden. Dennoch sind Wirkungsweise, Einsatzgebiet, Berechnung und Kon struktion von Schraubenkompressoren auch bei Technikern oft wenig bekannt. Ein Grund dafUr mag sein, daS Schraubenverdichter bis vor eini gen Jahren nur von wenigen Unternehmen hergestellt wurden und auch die Forschung auf dem Schraubenverdichtersektor bei diesen Firmen lag. Heute wachst die Zahl der Schraubenverdichterhersteller und -anwender stark. Im zunehmenden MaSe beschaftigen sich auch Technische Universitaten und Hochschulen mit dieser noch ent wicklungsfahigen Maschinentype. In der technischen Fachliteratur sind BUcher Uber Schrauben verdichter kaum zu finden bzw. schwer zuganglich. In den wenigen FachbUchern Uber Verdrangerkompressoren werden hauptsachlich Kolbenverdichter behandelt, dem Schraubenverdichter wird im allgemeinen zu wenig oder gar kein Platz eingeraumt. Das vor liegende Buch widmet sich deshalb ausschlieSlich dem Schrauben kompressor und seiner besonderen Problematik. Es wendet sich an die Studierenden, aber auch an die Ingenieure, die mit der Herstellung und dem Betrieb von Schraubenkompresso ren und Schraubenkompressoranlagen befaSt sind.
