Somit kann man ein Verständnis des Politischen heute nur über ein Verständnis der 'Logik politischer Repräsentation' erlangen: Keine politische Forderung, kein Urteilsspruch, kein parlamentarischer Beschluss, kurz: kein politischer Akt, kann auf die Behauptung verzichten, den eigentlichen Allgemeinwillen zu artikulieren. Damit wird der politische Streit zum Streit darum, wer mit der Stimme des Volkes spricht - und wer stattdessen nur partikulare Interessen vertritt. Der Band fragt, wo dieses 'Volk' zu finden ist und wer mit welchem Recht in seinem Namen handelt.
