In diesem Band wird erstmals die teils nur noch fragmentarisch erhaltene Korrespondenz Gronemanns rekonstruiert und dadurch sein extensives Beziehungsnetzwerk erschlossen. Unter den Korrespondenzpartnern befanden sich bedeutende Politiker, Schriftsteller und Künstler, darunter u.a. bekannte Zeitgenossen wie die Zionisten Theodor Herzl, Max Nordau, Heinrich Loewe, Chaim Weizmann und David Ben-Gurion, oder die Schriftsteller Arthur Schnitzler, Richard Beer-Hofmann, Kurt Tucholsky, Else Lasker-Schüler, Arnold Zweig, und Shaul Tchernichovsky. Außerdem stand er in Kontakt mit den Künstlern des jiddischen Avantgardetheaters Wilnaer Truppe sowie des späteren hebräischen Nationaltheaters Habima, zu deren erfolgreichen Werdegang Gronemann maßgeblich beitrug. Die Kommentare der vorliegenden Ausgabe erschließen das bisher unveröffentlichte Archivmaterial kritisch und kontextualisieren es in der zeitgenössischen und geisteswissenschaftlichen Rezeption.
