Weitere Themen sind Prävention und Therapie, aber auch soziale Konsequenzen und gesetzliche Regelungen des FAS und FASD sowie Auswirkungen für FASD-Patienten im Erwachsenenalter – ergänzt um therapeutische Hilfen sowie Hinweise auf die neu erarbeiteten Leitlinien für das FAS. Das Buch soll Ärzten die Diagnosestellung erleichtern, Hebammen, Jugend- und Sozialämter sowie Arbeitsagenturen für das Krankheitsbild sensibilisieren und vor allem Eltern und Pflegeeltern im täglichen Umgang mit den Kindern stärken.
