This study explores how the philosophy of Kant became the prevailing school of thought in Germany during the first years after the Critique of Pure Reason appeared (1781). The book shows that the acceptance of this new philosophy was a complicated process which did not proceed without intense controversies. From the rhetorical point of view, the focus is mainly on the collective metaphors which characterize the debate.
