Este libro contiene la edición crítica, traducción y estudio lingüístico del Kitāb al-taswiʾa o Libro de la reprobación del más insigne gramático judío de la Edad Media, el andalusí Yonah ibn Ğanāḥ (s. XI). Es de reseñar que para la elaboración de la edición se han utilizado manuscritos de gran antigüedad, de la Biblioteca Bodleiana (Oxford) y de la Colección Firkovitch (San Petersburgo). Es igualmente destacable la atención que se le ha prestado en este trabajo al judeo-árabe, la variante lingüística en la que está escrito el tratado. Se ha elaborado un estudio lingüístico en profundidad, teniendo en cuenta las características específicas de la utilización de la lengua árabe por los judíos, como son el empleo del alfabeto hebreo y el uso de registros del árabe dialectal. Asimismo, se ha incluido un capítulo dedicado a la descripción y estado de la cuestión en la investigación del judeo-árabe de época medieval.
