Description

Les Cent Nouvelles nouvelles, rédigées entre 1458 et 1467 à la cour de Bourgogne, furent le premier recueil de nouvelles en langue française: des histoires amusantes, divertissantes, truculentes. Elles empruntent au Décaméron de Boccace le cadre de la narration et le nombre de textes qu'elles contiennent. Mais l'influence de Boccace n'est que structurelle. Sur le plan du contenu, ce sont d'autres sources qui importent: les fabliaux, la narration orale - et la tradition latine. Ce travail analyse les modèles latins des Cent Nouvelles nouvelles: les Facéties du Florentin Poggio Bracciolini, le récit de Floridan et Elvide de Nicolas de Clamanges, la Marina latine notée par Albrecht von Eyb, le De Remediis utriusque fortunae II, 50 de Francesco Petrarca. L'auteur se penche plus particulièrement sur: la structure de ces oeuvres, leur exemplarité, l'humour et la pointe, l'emploi des styles direct et indirect, le mouvement du récit, la présence du narrateur et la langue. Priorité est donnée à l'examen du texte latin sans que soit négligée la comparaison des modèles et des nouvelles françaises respectives.
