Ein Gutteil des Interesses an Kleins Buch diirfte sicher auf die ungebrochene AktualWit von "Iko saedermathematik" zuriickzufiihren sein, d. h. von Mathematik, in der die Geometrie und Symmetrie des Ikosaeders, wie auch die der anderen Pla tonischen Korper und der reguliiren Polygone, eine wesentliche Rolle spie len. Hirzebruch [1976], [1977], Naruki [1978], Burns [1983]), die Konstruktion eines unzerlegbaren Vektorbiindels vom Rang 2 auf dem p4 (Horrocks Mumford [1973]) sowie die Analyse seiner Eigenschaften (vgl.
