El presente volumen recoge doce contribuciones inéditas de estudiosos de la obra de Jorge Semprún pertenecientes a varias universidades europeas. En ellas sus autores han intentado acercarse a la figura y la obra de Jorge Semprún (1923-2011) a través de diferentes perspectivas. Efectivamente, Semprún se encontró a lo largo de su vida en un constante cruce de caminos. Desde su adolescencia debió dividirse entre dos lenguas, vivir con varias identidades: la del rojo español o del deportado à Buchenwald, la de la clandestinidad comunista española; y más tarde la del escritor a partir de El Largo Viaje (1963). Este libro le abrió en cierto modo las puertas del reconocimiento como intelectual europeo. Atravesando diferentes lugares y tiempos, y paraprotegerse contra la esquizofrenia que siente adueñarse de él, Semprún toma la decisión de escribir y trata de hacerlo en distintos géneros. Le présent volume rassemble une douzaine de contributions inédites de spécialistes de l'œuvre de Jorge Semprún (1923-2011) provenant de plusieurs universités européennes. Les auteurs cherchent à approcher sa figure et son œuvre à travers différentes perspectives. En effet, Semprún se trouva tout au long de sa vie à la croisée des chemins. Partagé depuis son adolescence entre deux langues, il vécut avec plusieurs identités successives: celle du rouge espagnol ou du déporté à Buchenwald, celle de la clandestinité communiste espagnole; puis celle de l'écrivain à partir du Grand Voyage (1963). Ce livre lui ouvrit d'une certaine façon les portes d'une reconnaissance comme intellectuel européen. En traversant des époques et des lieux différents, et pour se protéger contre la schizophrénie qu'il sent s'emparer de lui, Semprún décide d'écrire en s'essayant à des genres variés. About the Author Juan F. García Bascuñana es profesor de Filología Francesa en Tarragona (Universitat Rovira i Virgili). Es especialista en literatura francesa de la Edad Media tardía e historia de la lengua francesa. Ha dirigido varios proyectos de investigación sobre la historia del francés en España. Organizó el 1er Simposio internacional Jorge Semprún (Tarragona, marzo de 2012). Juan F. García Bascuñana est professeur de Philologie Française à Tarragone (Universitat Rovira i Virgili). Ses recherches portent sur la littérature française du Moyen Âge tardif et sur l'histoire du français. Il a dirigé quelques projets de recherche sur l'histoire du français en Espagne. Il a organisé le 1er Symposium international Jorge Semprún (Tarragone, mars 2012)
