Un vin maigre est-il plus prisé qu'un vin gras ? Ces questions révèlent l'omniprésence des termes métaphoriques dans les langages techniques et scientifiques. Le rôle fondateur des métaphores dans les langues de spécialité est depuis quelques décennies un objet d'étude privilégié dans diverses disciplines, de la linguistique cognitive, à l'épistémologie, à la terminologie; cet ouvrage se propose de conjuguer ces diverses approches méthodologiques afin de proposer un modèle pluriel de la métaphore, expliquant les dynamiques cognitives et textuelles à l'oeuvre dans la création et la diffusion des métaphores terminologiques. Du langage de la couture à la terminologie de l'astrophysique, du vocabulaire de la dégustation du vin au langage de la finance, les apports de la linguistique de corpus sont mis au service de l'analyse synchronique (monolingue et multilingue), mais aussi de l'analyse diachronique des évolutions terminologiques dans les domaines socio-professionnels thématisés.
