This volume includes sixteen contributions dealing with linguistic and communicative aspects of three Romance languages (Italian, French, Spanish) and three Germanic languages (English, German, Danish). The volume is divided into three thematically homogeneous sections devoted to language, with particular attention to lexicon and syntax; text, which addresses questions related to semantic organization and certain cohesive devices; and cognition and culture, in which the relation between linguistic and extra-linguistic phenomena are the main focus of interest.
