About the Author Umberto Volpe is currently Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Psychiatric Unit and of the training School in Psychiatry at the Marche Polytechnic University (Ancona, Italy). After completing his medical degree and specialization in psychiatry, both at the University of Naples (Italy), he completed a PhD in Behavioral Sciences with honors at the same university, and at Karolinska Institute (Stockholm, Sweden) and the University of Bern (Switzerland). He subsequently completed research fellowships at the Department of Psychiatry of UCAL (Los Angeles, USA) and at Institute of Psychiatry (London, UK). In 2008, he became a staff psychiatrist at the University of Naples and began focusing on psychiatric rehabilitation (including various forms of art therapy). He has published more than 200 scientific national and international scientific papers, has edited 3 international .books in the field of psychiatry and has served as an Associate Editor for several scientific journals
