About the Author Professor José Carlos Goulart de Siqueira gained his mechanical and electrical engineering degree in 1966, from the Institute Electrotechnical of Itajuba. He taught at the same institution, renamed as Itajuba Federal School of Engineering – EFEI, and was Full Professor there from 1975 until his retirement in 2011. He led the process of transformation of EFEI in Federal University of Itajuba – UNIFEI in 2002, being named its first Rector. He also taught part-time for nearly two decades at the National Telecommunications Institute – INATEL in Santa Rita do Sapucai, MG.
