This book discusses fundamentally new biomedical imaging methods, such as holography, holographic and resonant interferometry, and speckle optics. About the Author Leonid V. Tanin is Academician of the International Academy of Engineering, doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, honored Inventor of the Republic of Belarus, Chairman of the Board of Directors of CJSC HOLOGRAPHY INDUSTRY. In 1971 he graduated from Physical Department of State Leningrad University (Department of Optics and Spectroscopy), in 1974 – postgraduate course of Leningrad Physical and Technical Institute of A.F. Ioffe of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (Sector of Plasma Optics). In 1978 he created a scientific group “Coherent-optical studies of medical and biological systems” in the Research Institute of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Physiotherapy of the Ministry of Health of the BSSR and he was in charge of it more than 20 years. Leonid Tanin is one of the founders of a future-oriented field in science – biomedical optics. He developed the basis of speckle-optical diagnostics and laser hemotherapy in the treatment of diseases of peripheral and central nervous systems, he created the diagnostic device “Laser specklometer”, that does not have analogs in the whole world, for the study of biomechanical activity of muscles and surface blood flow.
