Each chapter reviews the correct use of the individual method,the most appropriate candidates, timing of initiation, red flag contraindications, risks and benefits, method of action, handling side effects, non-contraceptive benefits, switching methods and the CDC Medical Eligibility for the method. Importantly however, there is a new emphasis placed on standardized evidence-based practice recommendations incorporating the most recent US Selected Practice Recommendations and rationale as published by the US CDC.
