He taught at the University of Crete, University of Thessaly and University of Ioannina. He teaches more than 25 years at the Greek Open University at the Master's Program in Health Economics and now he teaches at the Master's Program of Management Aging and Chronic Diseases. He has been Head of the Department at the University of Ioannina from 2004 - 2008 and since then he has been the Vice - Head of the Department until 2017. He was also a member of the Deanship of the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences of the University of Ioannina. He was the Director of the Master's Program of the Department of Economics of the University of Ioannina from 2003 - 2009 and from 2011 to 2019. He was also the Director of the Laboratory of Applied Economic and Social Policy at the University of Ioannina. He served as Director of the Directorate of Research at the Employment Observatory Research and Informatics SA, Senior Researcher at the National Labour Institute and Researcher at the Centre of Planning and Economic Research.  His research interests are focused on labour economics, public economics, economics of social protection, health economics and economics of Poverty and income inequalities. He currently works on the cost of disability, on the integration of vulnerable persons into the labour market and on health inequalities.
