Product Description This book addresses the complex socio-political context of natural resource management in coastal and marine environments throughout the contemporary Pacific Islands and provides lessons that can be applied around the globe. About the Author Edward W. Glazier is a maritime social scientist and ocean planner with over 3 decades of experience. He is Vice-President of Impact Assessment, Inc., former Sociocultural Specialist for the U.S. Department of the Interior in Alaska, and former Acting Director of the Socioeconomic Research and Planning Division for the U.S. Department of Commerce, National Marine Fisheries Service in Hawaii. He is also author of numerous technical reports, articles, and books, including Ecosystem-Based Fisheries Management in the Western Pacific (2011) and Hawaiian Fishermen (2007).
