La vie d'une meute de loups racontée au fil des pages. De photographies en aquarelles, Yves Fagniart et Olivier Larrey, retracent leur histoire avec les loups. Ils mettent en lumière les plus belles observations faites durant 80 jours en affût au coeur de la Taïga finlandaise. Ainsi, de jour en jour, ils ont pu observer la meute dans toutes sortes de comportements : liens entre générations, jeux fraternels, prédation, dans les somptueux décors de la grand forêt boréale où l'hiver dure 6 mois. Leur aventure, découpée en cinq missions, est relatée avec la grande complicité de Marie-Pierre Bey qui a recueilli leurs histoires et les a retranscrites avec ses mots. Le film " l'affût aux loups " qui a été l'objet principal de toute cette aventure (coproduction : Arté France, le cinquième rêve, Belgica films), raconte la quête des deux artistes, le livre restitue le fruit de leurs nombreuses observations. Environ 100 photographies et 70 aquarelles et dessins sont rassemblés dans cet ouvrage.
