Musicien, compositeur mais aussi dissident politique et penseur panafricaniste, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti (1938-1997) est surtout l'inventeur d'un style, l'afrobeat, qui puise à de nombreuses sources, des rythmes yoruba au free jazz en passant par la soul et le funk. Des clubs nigérians aux scènes européennes, Fela a fait de sa musique une arme pour dénoncer la corruption et les mentalités néocoloniales. A partir d'archives et de photographies inédites, portées par les regards d'une vingtaine d'auteurs et autrices du Nigeria et d'ailleurs, ce livre rend un hommage magistral au "Black President", dont l'héritage est omniprésent à travers le monde.
