About the Author Pierre Frantz est professeur de littérature française à la Sorbonne université. Spécialiste du théâtre du XVIIIe siècle, ses principaux domaines de recherche sont l'histoire et l'esthétique du théâtre, et l'histoire des idées esthétiques. Il dirige en ce moment l'édition du théâtre complet de Voltaire.Catriona Seth, titulaire de la chaire Maréchal Foch à l'université d'Oxford, est membre de l'Académie britannique, de l'Academia Europaea et de l'Académie Royale de Belgique. Elle est l'auteure de nombreux travaux sur la littérature française et l'histoire culturelle du XVIIIe siècle.Stéphane Schmitt est directeur de recherche au CNRS. Il travaille sur l'histoire des sciences de la vie, en particulier aux XVIIIe et XIXe siècles. Il a publié plusieurs articles et ouvrages sur l'histoire de l'anatomie, de l'embryologie et des sciences de l'évolution, et il dirige l'édition scientifique des oeuvres complètes de Buffon.
