Bijou iconique créé par la maison Van Cleef & Arpels en 1968, le sautoir Alhambra est aujourd'hui une pièce majeure de la parure féminine. A l'occasion de son cinquantième anniversaire, cet ouvrage raconte la genèse de ce bijou devenu une signature de la maison Van Cleef & Arpels. Symbole de chance et porte-bonheur, le motif du trèfle à quatre feuilles puise son origine dans les fameux bijoux "Touch Wood" que la maison crée dans les années 1920. Motif icône de Van Cleef & Arpels depuis 1968, le trèfle s'est paré, au fil des années, des matières les plus nobles comme la nacre, l'onyx, la cornaline ou encore le lapis-lazuli. Il se décline aussi en de multiples combinaisons, offrant les porters les plus divers : sautoir, ras du cou, boucles d'oreilles, bracelet... La conception d'Alhambra offre toute l'expertise de la haute joaillerie : trèfle orné d'un délicat contour de perles d'or et précieuses associations de matières en font un bijou d'exception. Né à la fin des années 1960 – décennie qui révolutionna la mode, le style et les modes de pensée – le premier sautoir Alhambra séduit immédiatement les femmes.
