About the Author Gérard Degeorge, architecte, écrivain et photographe, professeur à l'Ecole d'architecture de Paris, est un grand connaisseur du Moyen-Orient et de l'Inde. A l'Imprimerie nationale, il a publié Palmyre (avec Paul Veyne, 2001), Palais et demeures d'Orient (avec Jean-Claude David, 2009) et La Grande Mosquée des Omeyyades (2010). Amina Taha-Hussein Okada, conservateur en chef, responsable des collections d'art indien au musée Guimet, est une éminente spécialiste de l'Inde, dont elle a traduit du sanskrit plusieurs textes classiques, tels Les Contes du perroquet et Poèmes d'un voleur d'amour. Commissaire de nombreuses expositions, notamment, au Grand Palais, Rasa, les neuf visages de l'art indien (1986) et L'Age d'or de l'Inde classique, l'empire des Gupta (2007), elle a rédigé deux catalogues des collections permanentes du musée Guimet, Sculptures indiennes (200o) et L'Inde des princes, la donation Jean et Krishnâ Riboud (2o00). Elle est l'auteur de livres marquants : Ajantâ (1991) et Tâj Mahal (1993) avec Jean-Louis Nou, à l'Imprimerie nationale, Le Grand Moghol et ses peintres, Miniaturistes de l'Inde aux XVIe et XVIIe siècles (1992), Un joyau de l'Inde moghole, le mausolée d'I'timâd ud-Daulah (2003), et a assuré la direction scientifique du Râmâyana de Vâlmiki illustré par les miniatures indiennes du XVIe au XIXe siècle (2011).
