La collection « Elsevier Atlas » fait le point sur une pathologie ou une technique, en s'appuyant sur une iconographie riche et exemplaire, expliquée et commentée par le texte. La pathologie rétinienne est riche et variée. Le diagnostic des affections du fond d'oil repose aujourd'hui sur une imagerie multimodale, en constante évolution. L'imagerie actuelle repose sur les rétinographies en couleur et en autofluorescence, la tomographie à cohérence optique (OCT) souvent complétée par l'OCT-angiographie, l'angiographie à la fluorescéine et au vert d'indocyanine (ICG). Les tests fonctionnels (champ visuel, électrophysiologie...) peuvent s'avérer indispensables à certains diagnostics. Cependant, l'imagerie ne doit pas se concevoir comme un empilement d'examens mais comme un choix raisonné. Cet ouvrage allie une iconographie de qualité, pertinente au diagnostic de chaque affection et un texte synthétique complété et enrichi par les légendes des figures. Des éléments de diagnostic différentiel, d'évolution, de pronostic et de prise en charge et de traitement des maladies rétiniennes, ainsi que des références sélectionnées, sont inclus dans le texte. Des orientations diagnostiques devant certains aspects du fond d'oil sont également proposées. POINT CLÉS: Plus de 200 maladies du fond d'oil, y compris des maladies rares. Les éléments du diagnostic et l'imagerie pertinente expliquée. Une rédaction synthétique qui privilégie les informations importantes. Alain Gaudric est Professeur Émérite de l'Université Paris-Cité, ancien chef de service d'ophtalmologie à l'Hôpital Lariboisière, membre de la Macula Society et du Club Jules Gonin. Il est membre du comité de rédaction de l'American Journal of Ophthalmology. Prithvi Ramtohul est chef de clinique et assistant des hôpitaux de Marseille et a effectué son fellowship au Vitreous Retina Macula Consultants of New York.
