Au départ, Tintin c'était un feuilleton. Les albums ne sont venus que plus tard et n'avaient pas du tout été prévus, racontait Hergé. C'est cette version originale des Aventures de Tintin, mais aussi de Quick et Flupke et de Jo et Zette, que propose la présente collection. On y découvrira pour la première fois l'intégralité des bandes dessinées d'Hergé telles qu'elles furent publiées dans Le Petit Vingtième, Cours Vaillants, Le Soir et le journal Tintin, ainsi que toutes les créations graphiques qui s'y rapportaient (couvertures, bandeaux-titres, illustrations...) Ce captivant retour aux sources permet de redécouvrir l'oeuvre d'Hergé dans la fraîcheur du moment de la création. Lors de la publication en album, son souci de perfection conduisait en effet Hergé à apporter d'importantes modifications à ses histoires : il redessinait certains passages, supprimait des images, parfois des planches entières et, à compter de la création du journal Tintin, en changeait systématiquement les couleurs. En fin d'ouvrage, trois postfaces illustrées de nombreux documents inédits viennent enrichir le regard : Benoît Peeters évoque la vie et le travail d'Hergé, Jean-Marie Embs se penche sur les sources et le contexte historique de chaque aventure, Philippe Mellot présente les activités et publications d'Hergé au jour le jour. Reprenant les bandes dessinées parues dans la presse entre avril 1925 et avril 1976, les 12 volumes de la collection Le Feuilleton intégral s'adressent à tous les passionnés de l'oeuvre d'Hergé. Entre 1950 et 1958, le monde change... et le créateur de Tintin modifie ses méthodes de travail en créant les Studios Hergé. De la conquête spatiale (Objectif Lune, On a marché sur la Lune) à l'esclavagisme moderne (Coke en stock) en passant par la guerre froide (L'Affaire Tournesol), les aventures de ses héros reflètent et devancent l'actualité de leur temps.
