Career Communications for Scientists & Engineers: in 9 parts

This project arose from the writing needs of engineers and scientists. It began when I was asked to help address the quality of writing in an engineering department at Golder Associates. I had the privilege to work with 9000 consultants all around the world -- we used to say that you were usually closer to a Golder office than the nearest embassy!! In short, this book and the accompanying videos encapsulate the wisdom and knowledge of the most senior people, added to lessons from my experience in scientific textbook publishing. It is crowd-sourced, because many people willingly shared all their best knowledge, gained over decades. This book contains the information that senior engineers and scientists wish that the juniors would know to • make it easier and faster to learn to write and communicate well • increase the quality of written, oral, and video communications • reduce the stress on teams and senior consultants, who must review all communications before they go to clients • improve relations with clients • accelerate career success of individuals, by helping them become high-quality communicators.
