For many years, practicing clinical medicine, we continue to describe and share nature’s wonderful creation - medicinal leeches (Hirudo medicinalis). And at first we are always met with shock, doubt and distrust regardless of the patient’s age, intellect and profession. It is understandable, however, that both the patient and the specialist educated within the modern medical establishments find it hard to believe that some ‘worms’ can have significant benefit on treatment of diseases. Medicinal leeches are not an advancement in genetic engineering and nanotechnology, or some new achievement in engineering and artificial intelligence; they are not mentioned in fancy advertisements of transnational pharmaceutical companies.It is hard to believe that some annelid worms (Annelides) can help us treat severe traumas, acute otitis, artritis or panaritium, help you forget about dreadful hemorrhoids, restore the lightness in your heavy legs, and, perhaps, even help save you from the fate of a lifelong disability...This book is the further development of our project and plan to distribute our professional knowledge of Hirudotherapy (Medicinal Leech Therapy) among the Medical community and the different World nations.
