Esta historia habla de lo que ha sido nuestra familia, y al escribirla nos dimos cuenta de que escribíamos nuestra propia historia, la historia de unas vidas que hoy, inca sus raíces en el rico manantial de la experiencia y de la conciencia que la tradición familiar ha sabido filtrar con inteligencia, cordura y amor, y transmitir de generación en generación de la manera más trascendente e indeleble: el ejemplo de una vida buena. Tuvimos que escribirla para darnos cuenta de que más que un ejercicio de literatura, se trataba de un homenaje absolutamente necesario para que ese arquetipo de buena conducta ciudadana y familiar, perdure y germine con fuerza en las generaciones por venir. Que no se desdeñe, se omita, se desconozca, se abandone o se olvide. Porque “la verdadera muerte es el olvido” y no queremos que ninguno de ellos muera definitivamente.
