"The Fallopian Tube" honors perhaps, the most intricately structured, yet, one of the most functionally significant and competent organs of the reproductive apparatus. Nevertheless, the Fallopian tubes are highly susceptible to infectious/inflammatory insults such as sexually transmitted diseases, infection after childbirth, miscarriage, termination of pregnancy ( MTP) or IUD (intrauterine device) insertion, post-operative pelvic infection, tuberculosis, and severe endometriosis that may culminate in tubal damage and ultimately infertility. Tubal abnormalities account for between 25 percent and 50 percent of female infertility.
