Description

This four-volume collection of primarily newly transcribed manuscript material brings together sources from both sides of the Atlantic and from a wide variety of regional archives. It is the first collection of its kind, allowing comparisons between the development of the family in England and America during a time of significant change. About the Author Rachel Cope is an assistant professor of American religious history at Brigham Young University. She has been the recipient of a number of fellowships, each of which has enabled her study of women and conversion in the first half of the nineteenth century. Amy Harris is an assistant professor of British history and family history/genealogy at Brigham Young University. She is the author of Siblinghood and Social Relations in Georgian England: Share and Share Alike (Manchester University Press, 2012) and teaches courses on European families, European women and English-language palaeography. Jane Hinckley is adjunct professor of English at Brigham Young University.
