The IET Wiring Regulations is the national standard for electrical installations in domestic, commercial and industrial settings. It is the essential standard for all those concerned with the design, installation, certification and maintenance of electrical installations. Amendment 2:2022 is a major update to BS 7671:2018, The IET Wiring Regulations, Eighteenth Edition.BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 incorporates Amendment 1:2020 which brought about new requirements for Electric Vehicle Charging Installations which embraced changing technology within this sector. Additional changes within BS 7671:2018+A2:2022 include protection against thermal effects and fire caused by electrical equipment, protection against voltage disturbances and electromagnetic disturbances and a new chapter on prosumer''s low-voltage electrical installations covering energy efficiency measures, the interface with the smart grid, the management of electricity consumption, the management of renewable sources of electricity, and energy storage.
