Crime, Justice, and Social Control explores formal and informal dimensions of social control and demonstrates that law and the criminal justice system are set within the wider context of social control. Stuart Henry Ph.D. (Sociology, University of Kent, England) previously served as a professor of criminal justice at San Diego State University and was director of the School of Public Affairs (2006-2017). Jeffrey Vandersip is a lecturer at San Diego State University and a senior crime and intelligence analyst with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. He holds a B.A. in urban studies with a concentration in geography. Desiré J.M. Anastasia, holds a Ph.D. in sociology from Wayne State University. She is an associate professor of sociology at Metropolitan State University, Denver, and also teaches at San Diego State University.
