Description
The Nursing Student's Self Study Guide is designed to help nursing students disseminate, understand, comprehend, organize, analyze, and implement information as they navigate their studies. The guide provides them with a systematic way to take notes and learn material as they listen to lectures or read through books, articles, and other text-based resources. The guide is organized into 15 chapters, each of which introduce a topic and then provide case scenarios, lined sections to capture personalized lecture/textbook notes, application exercises, and critical thinking questions. Topical areas include electrolytes and the role of acid-base and their part in maintaining homeostasis; oxygenation and alterations in the respiratory system; hematologic disorders and the disease process of coronary artery disease and angina; and perfusion disorders and the disease processes related to perfusion. Additional chapters address a myriad of alterations, including cardiac, gastrointestinal, pancreatic, renal, endocrine, musculoskeletal, sensory, and neurological alterations. Diabetes mellitus and perioperative nursing are covered. Developed to provide students with a comprehensive and highly organized way to centralize their learnings, The Nursing Student's Self Study Guide is an ideal resource for nursing courses and programs.
