His ideas on concentrationary art proved to be a major influence for Hannah Arendt and the Frankfurt School, as well as other writers and theorists across a number of disciplines. Concentrationary Art represents the first translation into English of Jean Cayrol's two essays on the subject, as well as the first book-length study of his theory, its influence, and its use as a tool of cultural and political analysis of art and extreme violence.
