He holds an LLM in Law and PhD In International Studies, and is the author of Arab-Latin American Relations: Energy, Investment and Trade (Rutgers University: Transactions, 1983), and numerous scholarly articles on international politics, economics, law and banking and finance, including Islamic finance.
