The Dawn: My Pain, My Strength and My African Dream

This book is like a thriller, as it depicts challenges, confusion, pain and victory all at once. It will empower anyone who reads it with the aim to change their inner self amidst all the noise because that is where the power lies. The author was depicting real life incidents, so this is a real-life story. Her journey in life until now has been marred with lots of activities and episodes which at times can cause emotional disturbance. In the end the beauty of self-discovery is amazing and the power that oozes from being in control of oneself is deeply fulfilling. Often, we search and search not knowing what we are searching for, only to discover that it is deep inside us. We look for fulfilment in different ways: luxuries, money, relationships, alcohol and many other things. Having been raised by a single parent and an absent father, the author’s mother became the pillar of her strength. She is happy that they eventually became close with her father although he died a few years later. Amidst the turbulence of life and many years of uncertainty and confusion, amidst failed relationships, marriages and business attempts, it suddenly dawned on the author that the power to change her life comes from within. Life is a teacher and the challenges we face are its lessons, something which we miss. Living as an African girl in South Africa the author could have continued to bemoan apartheid and having lived an average life with no luxuries, but she has learnt that this was never her problem. This was not the causative factor of not having achieved her dreams. The power from within is very spiritual. It is quite complex to explain, but it is the spirit we are and the spirit that propels us forward and assists us to reach our dreams. When it eventually dawned on her, she woke up from a deep slumber and realised she had been half-dead for a long time. About the Author Tshepiso Kepadisa is a Health, Life and Executive Coach. She has a master’s degree and is currently completing her PhD. She also runs a physical rehabilitation centre in Rustenburg in the North-West.
