Course Slides for DATABASES, DATA SCIENCE, AND DATA ANALYTICS FUNDAMENTALS. This course covers the fundamental concepts of Databases, Data Science, and Data Analytics, and will be predominantly a hands-on class using SQL, IBM DB2, R, R-Studio, BizStats, SPSS, Minitab, EViews, and others. The learning outcomes are to: - Understand the basics of a Database Management System (DBMS). - Understand the main SQL Queries and SQL Commands. You will learn how to create tables, manipulate tables, insert and delete data, write and call SQL data scripts, and so forth.- Understand what Data Science (DS) is all about and how to run key DS models. That is, once you learn the fundamentals of Databases and SQL Queries, what’s next? Data Science includes the analysis of the data you pulled from these SQL Queries.- Understand Data Analytics as it pertains to DS and DBMS applications. That is, you will learn how to perform routine data analysis of the reports and results obtained from SQL queries.To use the slides, you are required to create logins and install certain software applications such as IBM Watson Cloud Database DB-2, ROV Quantitative Data Miner SQL Services, Risk Simulator, and BizStats. In addition, make sure your computer has Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access Database. These software require Microsoft Windows 10. If you are using MAC, make sure to have Parallels, Bootcamp, or Virtual Machine installed with Windows OS.
