The Delicate Balance Undone

the delicate balance-“(Undone)”-is scientific data intensive and verifies man-made hydrocarbon fuel pollution is pushing the delicate environmental balance of the home planet ever closer to the point of no return. The seemingly small increase of 140 parts per million in atmospheric CO2 since 1750 exemplifies the delicate balance, because the small increase in human terms has resulted in the greatest environmental problem ever faced by humanity, global warming. The warming of the home planet lays bare the delicate balance between the atmosphere and the oceans because the oceans are warming and the small increase in ocean temperature has disrupted the delicate balance between coral reefs and symbiotic algae. Oceans are also absorbing anthropogenic atmospheric CO2, which disrupts the delicate balance by making the oceans more acidic, and the 0.1 unit of change in ocean pH changes the delicate balance by reducing the amount of calcium carbonate, CaCO3, calcifying marine organisms, such as oysters, clams, and lobsters, extract from seawater to build shells. The 1.2° C/2.16° F increase in atmospheric temperature lays bare the delicate balance on the home planet because the unprecedented melting of the cryosphere, defined as all of the ice on the home planet, will in time change ocean salinity, disrupt Meridional Overturning Circulation, and raise sea levels by 67.67 m/222 ft. The handwriting is on the wall because the symptoms of climate change are increasing at increasing rates, and unless humanity chooses with the blessing of free will to take immediate and drastic measures to eliminate hydrocarbon fuels, the delicate environmental balance on the home planet will become-“(Permanently-“(Undone).”
