Creating Diverse Experiences for Rural Appalachian Pre-Service Teachers

Many small universities and colleges are struggling to find diverse classroom experiences in convenient locations for their pre-service teachers due to remote locations and limited funds. This publication gives an actual scenario where professors and community members worked together to provide services to both pre-service teachers and students from diverse backgrounds. The overall idea is to use what is available where the university or college is located. There is diversity all around: we merely have to seek it out and extend that offer to help others. The book also discusses the caveats to any partnership, such as what works and what does not work and how to work out issues in an amicable way to please everyone.
