Description

Dental implant is a procedure in which an intraoral prosthesis made from titanium screws is implanted into the jawbone to correct defects, like missing teeth, or missing hard or soft structures of the jaw. The principal dental implant prostheses include dental crown, dental bridge, dentures, palatal obturator and orthodontic appliance. The main objective of dental implant prosthetics is to enhance aesthetics, improve mastication and support speech. Fixed prosthodontics or removable dentures can be used for treatment, depending on the health condition of the patient. The angle and position of adjacent teeth determines the position where implants will be fixed. The position is assessed by utilizing computed tomography with CAM simulations, lab simulations and through surgical stents.
