Audiology is the science that is concerned with the study of hearing, balance and related disorders. The diagnosis of disorders involves various testing strategies to determine the degree of the loss of hearing, the area affected and the location of the lesion. Testing strategies include otoacoustic emission measurements, hearing tests, videonystagmography and electrophysiologic tests.
