About the Author Nicole Weigel earned her master's degree in northeastern archaeology at the State University of New York, Albany. Professor Weigel is a faculty member in the Department of Anthropology at the State University of New York, Oneonta where she teaches prehistoric world cultures, Mesoamerican archaeology, historic archaeology, and introductory cultural anthropology. Her research interests include gender in prehistory, historic archaeology, ethnoarchaeology and cross cultural comparisons, and changing subsistence and settlement strategies in the Eastern Woodlands during the Late Archaic and Woodland periods. She most recently presented at the 2014 Annual Meeting of the New York State Archaeological Association.
