About the Author Alexander Cotte Poveda is professor of Development Economics, Economic Theory and Economic Growth at Santo Tomas University in Bogotá Colombia. He research interest includes structural equation modeling, applied micro-econometrics, quantitative development economics, and labour economics. He has published numerous articles in refereed journals, among them the Journal Oxford Development Studies; Journal of International Development; Socio-Economic Planning Sciences; Journal Peace Economics, Peace Science and Public Policy; Journal Quality and Quantity; Journal Energy Systems; Journal of Rural Development; Iberoamerican Journal of Development Studies and Journal Social Indicators Research. He is member Editorial Board of the Socio-Economic Planning Sciences. Most of his current research is in the field of political economy, Development Politics, Economic and Violence, Poverty, Inequality, Economic Growth, Energy and Human Capital.
