Sarcomas are a group of rare malignant tumours that constitute less than 1% of all cancers, arising from the mesenchymal system. About 80% originate in soft tissue (muscle, nerves, joints, blood vessels, deep skin tissues, and fat), while the remainder originate in bone and cartilage.
