Product Description This volume moves the investigation of World Englishes beyond the processes of indigenization and evolution, focusing on the emergence of native speakers and their role in shaping the norms and standards of postcolonial varieties. Using data from L1 speakers of Cameroon English and Cameroon Pidgin English, the authors reassess the place of contact vis-à-vis ecological and sociocultural processes through innovative frameworks that provide the emic insights into postcolonial settings needed to complement and expand on the focus of previous research.
