Description

Being obese increases the risk of leukaemia, non-Hodgkin lymphoma, multiple myeloma, breast, cervical, colorectal, oesophageal, gallbladder, kidney, liver, ovarian, pancreatic, prostate, stomach, and uterine cancers. In addition, some studies show that obesity negatively affects a person's prognosis (chance of recovery). For example, obese men are more likely to be diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer, have a recurrence of prostate cancer, or die of prostate cancer than men who are not obese.
